I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day!  I had the chance to spend the day with my mom.  I certainly felt sympathy for those out there who no longer have their mothers.  My mom has made a huge impression on my life and encouraged me to be active in volunteerism, which has shaped the way I work as a legislator...

A committee substitute to SB1879 heard in the House Appropriations and Budget Committee last week by Rep. Ann Coody , R-Lawton, and Sen. John Ford, R-Bartlesville, would have stricken language allowing legislators to opt-out of annual stipend funding for National Board Certified Teachers (NBCT), limited applicants to 100 teachers who would receive a $2,750 processing fee reimbursement, and eliminated the $5,000 stipend for National Board certified teachers (NBCT) for those currently not in the process, therefore preventing future applicants from receiving the stipend...(more)

State Representative Joe Dorman serves District 65 in the state of Oklahoma. Joe is a member of the Rules Committee, the Appropriations and Budget Committee, the Administrative Rule Review Committee and the Common Education Committee. Joe also serves as the House vice-chair for the Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus, an affiliate of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus.
